IT Services consists of the open access area, the IT Service Desk and several computing classrooms.

The IT Service Desk

This is where you can come if you have any problems with the equipment you are using. If you cannot log on, you need your password reset, more space on your area to save work, problems with software or hardware or if you having difficulty printing then please contact us. Our friendly IT technicians are always willing to help with any issues you may be having.

Open Access

Open access is an area when any student can come up at any time in the college day and catch up on their work. We have 20 computers in the area and they are even available for the students to use in the holidays. Photography, media and some other courses may have students that need to print or modify pictures. We have added the Adobe Photoshop software for the students to use if needed. In open access there is a colour printer, a black and white printer and a scanner that the students are free to use. If any students have a problem with their computer, the IT staff are there to help. 

Other Information

All of the computers in the college now have Windows XP and Office 2007 so that the students are using up-to-date software so they can have the best facilities to complete their work. Inappropriate websites have been blocked, not just for students but for staff as well. The students can now bring in their own laptops and connect to the college internet via a wireless network called Open WiFi with no charge. There are instruction sheets on this at the IT Service Desk but if any problems occur then the IT technicians will help then get up and running.
