The General English Programme
You will study a range of general topics depending on your level, for example lifestyle, culture, society, business, education, psychology and technology.
In addition to learning the vocabulary and grammar associated with these topics, you will acquire the ability to:

read a wide range of fictional and non-fictional texts - newspapers, magazine articles and websites

listen to a variety of spoken texts such as advertisements, news reports, dramas, documentaries, speeches and lectures

use English for a wide range of practical purposes, for example apologising, expressing uncertainty, advisability and obligation

express a wide variety of notions and functions such as intention, purpose, reason, result, contrast, concession and change

use English for a wide range of more advanced speaking purposes, for example to hypothesis, speculate, criticise or deduce

produce a variety of written texts such as letters, stories, articles and reviews

use formal English for a range of written texts such as CVs, proposals and letters of application
