BTEC National Diploma Business students from Stratford-upon-Avon College have raised over £450 for the British Heart Foundation.
On 20th May, Donna Stokes, on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, collected a cheque for £462.32 from five National Diploma Business students. During the cheque presentation, Donna commented, “I am delighted to receive this cheque for the British Heart Foundation and would like to congratulate the students on their hard work in holding such a successful event.”
The money was raised by Sophie Baker, Emma Williams, Julia Ager, Shelley Brooks and Beth Williams by holding an event named “Pulse” at the Bureau in Stratford-upon-Avon College. Organising the event was part of their coursework for the two-year course.
Richard Silcox, business lecturer at the college said, “Our BTEC National Diploma Business students have raised nearly £10,000 since 2006 through a variety of fund-raising events and for many different charities. This coursework element of the course allows the students the opportunity to apply what they have learnt in the classroom as well as raise money for their chosen charities.”
