College’s Charity Tea Party
Travel & Tourism students at Stratford-upon-Avon swapped their globes and overhead lockers for tea pots and scones to host a charity Tea Party.
The tea party was held in the College’s Academy Restaurant and was well supported by staff and members of the public, raising over £200 The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Lecturer Beverley Brigden said, “The students did a fantastic job in running a successful event. This was this first time they had worked in the Academy Restaurant and 3 students also had the opportunity to work alongside the professional catering staff in the kitchen. The team were overwhelmed that they raised £200 for Breast Cancer.”
College Principal Martin Penny said “Congratulations must go to the students for coming up with this novel idea. The cakes and service were excellent and all for the benefit of a very important charity.”
The next Tea Party is on Monday 11th February from 2pm and will be raising money for The Shakespeare Hospice. The cost is £4.50 per person and this includes beverages and a selection of cakes and sandwiches with all money raised going to the Hospice.
