Ex-college student, Roy Kirk trains the next generation of motor vehicle technicians at the College’s new motor vehicle facility.

Roy Kirk, now a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, was amongst the last students to study Motor Vehicle Maintenance at the College before the section was closed in the late 1980s. He has developed the new motor vehicle facility at the Masons Road workshops which was opened in 2008 for Jaguar Land Rover Apprentices and then in 2009 for full-time courses.

Roy commented, “I was delighted to be part of the reopening of the motor vehicle department at the College. I enjoy passing on the skills and experience that I have gathered over the last twenty years. I am particularly excited that the next step will be the introduction of the Motor Vehicle Apprenticeships in September 2010.”

Peter Young, Curriculum Area Manager for Apprenticeships at Stratford-upon-Avon College, said, “I am very pleased with the success that has been achieved in the short time that Motor Vehicle Maintenance had been re-introduced to the College’s curriculum. Interest in the courses is very high and we are looking forward to expanding our offer in the near future.”
