Stratford-upon-Avon College Does Children in Need!

The college’s Higher National Diploma Media students are busy preparing for a special ‘Children in Need’ TV show and radio broadcast to be streamed live from www.stratcast.co.uk|. No other college has tried this simultaneous live event before, so be ready to tune in!

The ‘Children in Need’ TV show will be lead by presenters, David Reid and Dan Wainman (former HND Media students) from 10am on Friday 20th November. They will be based in the TV studio surrounded by a Pudsey themed set. A third presenter, Marshall Ferguson (second year HND Media student) will be based in The Zone (student refectory) who the students will cut to as another feature to the show - updating the audience with donations and reporting any other sponsorship. Watch out for Pudsey Bear who will be making a guest appearance!

There will be numerous live performances, including a Bon Jovi tribute act, a house band located in the studio and hopefully a live performance from Dunnington Church of England primary school children. The day will also be made up of a live quiz show 'Never Mind The Fuzzcocks' and inserts of how the charity helps less fortunate children. Pre-recorded material such as performances from bands, a lip sync feature and more quiz shows will also feature. The final schedule will be confirmed nearer the day of broadcast.

Phil Middleham, Media Lecturer, “This is a real live television experience working across four year groups both increasing their understanding of media and the latest technology that Stratford-upon-Avon College is able to offer. We hope also to make a lot of money for charity at the same time.”

Sophy Blount, HND Media student and Producer said, “I have always enjoyed watching the BBC's Children in Need show and as a media student always thought about how much fun it would be to work on the live show. Every year I receive the Pudsey reminder through the post and this year decided I should do something different with the hope to raise enough money to improve a child's life. I had the fantastic idea of producing my very own version of the BBC's Children in Need show. We’ve only had a few weeks to bring it altogether so if we can make an entertaining show whilst raising as much money as we can for Children in Need it will be a great achievement.”

Please help make Pudsey happy by donating to Children In Need. Visit www.justgiving.com/stratforddoeschildreninneed| to make a donation! All proceeds will go straight to the BBC's Children In Need cause.
