Local artist, Libby January, launched the 2011 Big Draw event at Stratford-upon-Avon College this week.
On Wednesday 19th October, Libby January| launched the event with AS Art and Design| students in The Brazz| Gallery at the College. A recording of Sound Puzzles was made for students to draw from on the theme of Drawing Age.
The Big Draw is an annual month long event in October that aims to bring communities together in creative ways. It is the largest drawing festival in the world! More than 1000 venues take part across the country. It was launched in 2000 as a one-day event and now runs for a month encouraging people of all ages to discover how drawing can connect them with their surroundings and the wider community.
Libby is a local artist who has exhibited at the Royal Academy’s The Mall Galleries and is an elected member of the Pastel Society. She exhibits her thought-provoking abstract and figurative work and her limited edition prints nationally. Libby’s exhibition Carte Blanche opens in the College’s The Brazz Gallery on 1st November and runs until 16th December.
