Additional Learning Support

Additional Learning Support is designed to ensure that all learners affected by specific Learning Difficulties, Disability or Learning Difficulty receive the support they need to complete their studies.

We also support students with a range of health and other issues that may affect their learning.

We offer a range of services from equipment to specialist support and work closely with subject lecturers and other college staff to make sure your time at Stratford-upon-Avon College is positive and supportive.

There are many opportunities to tell us about any concerns you may have regarding specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autistic Spectrum Disorders , Asperger’s Syndrome, ADD, ADHD) Disability or Learning Difficulty.

  •  Tick the appropriate box on the application form when you apply
  • When you come for your course interview mention that you might need support
  • Ask your school, parents or carers to contact us

There are lots of opportunities to tell us once you are at college:

  • Make sure your personal tutor knows you want ALS
  • Every student takes tests at induction, these help us to find out who might need ALS
  • You can ask for help at any point on the course
  • Come to CF17/18 or CF19 and talk to us
  • Any of your tutors will be happy to discuss your concerns with you and make sure you get the right support

If you have any concerns or questions about any learning support need, you can contact ALS to discuss them before you apply for a course on 01789 266245.
