There are so many routes you can take with Performing Arts.
The course requires learners to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of dance as choreographer, performer and critic.
They will study and perform set material from professional works through performance, choreography and critical appreciation. The course is 80% practical (40% performance / 40% choreography) enabling learners to actively and physically demonstrate their knowledge and experience in all three roles.
Unit 1: Critical appreciation of dance – written examination, 20%
Unit 2: Set dance – practical examination, 20%
Unit 3: Performance in a duo/group dance, 20%
Unit 4: Choreography, 40%
In addition learners are able to develop their personal and social health, fitness and wellbeing and be made aware of the range of opportunities and pathways available within dance.
Assessment is through the form of written & practical exam.
