Where will this course lead?

You will have some very basic experience of French, such as how to introduce yourself and how to make simple enquiries. During the course, you will expand on your vocabulary and sentence structure and also begin to build on your basic grammar skills.

What will I study?

We will aim to cover the following topics: Week 1: Revision of beginner topics (greetings, articles, numbers, nationalities, languages, countries and jobs) Week 2: Further revision of beginner topics if required; places in town; directions Week 3: Asking for something in a shop; understanding prices; shopping at the market; fruit and vegetables Week 4: Shopping at the market (continued); this/that/these/those; revision of present tense Week 5: Hotel reservations Week 6: Public transport; 12-hour and 24-hour clock Week 7: Menus; likes and dislikes Week 8: Revision of all topics *Please note that all topics will not necessarily be covered in the 8-week course. The teacher will attempt to cover more/less topics depending on the ability of the learners as a group.

How will this course be delivered?

A two-hour lesson each week for the duration of the course.

How will I be assessed?

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the tutor with self-assessment and evaluation by the student.
