Where will this course lead?

This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age.

What will I study?


This course covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's settings including early years and social care.

How will this course be delivered?

To achieve this qualification, you will attend College once a week for 20 weeks (term time only) where you will complete the knowledge part of the qualification. An Assessor will then observe you in the workplace to ensure your competence with different methods, where you will build up your portfolio evidence.

Certificate Level 2 Certificate in Children's Young Peoples Workforce

By completing the knowledge part of the qualification and also being assessed in the workplace to ensure your competence with different methods, where you will build up your portfolio evidence.

What are the entry requirements?

This qualification would be suitable for people who are wanting a career in childcare, you can either be employed or volunteering for 10 hours a week to qualify for this course.

What else do I need to know?

Depending on eligibility there are some places that are funded, which the Employer may decide to pay for you. If your Employer does not receive any funding then it is likely you will have to pay the fees yourself.
