Where will this course lead?

This course is intended for anyone who is seeking a first qualification in manual book-keeping and accounts. It aims to provide learners with a basic knowledge of the subject. The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with an introduction to book-keeping practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping.

What will I study?

The modules covered include:

  • know how to complete financial documents
  • record cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
  • prepare bank reconciliation
  • understand the petty cash system
  • extract a trial balance from ledger accounts.

What qualifications will I get?

You will gain a City & Guilds  Book-keeping and Accounts Level 1 C.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be through an exam, taking place in the 10th session of the course.

What are the entry requirements?

No prior knowledge is required.

What else do I need to know?

Students who are successful in the examinations would be qualified to fulfil a junior role in an accounts office.
