Where will this course lead?

ESOL is designed to develop English language skills and build confidence to enable learners to engage in life in the community and progress into employment, professional development or further study. ESOL courses at Stratford-upon-Avon College have been developed in line with the UK government.

What will I study?

At each level, the 4 linguistic skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing are combined and integrated into lessons. Learning programmes also take into account the development of wider skills such as information technology, study skills, problem-solving and strategies for independent learning.

What qualifications will I get?

On successful completion of each module, students will take an exam.

What are the entry requirements?

An interview and initial assessment is held at the start of the course to assess your level of English and place you in your initial class level. You will complete a diagnostic assessment to determine specific needs.
