Teen Acting will explore a range of acting principles used in both Contemporary and Classical theatre. Through a range of workshops and technique classes students will work on both scripted and devised pieces. Students will develop skills in voice, physicality and characterisation. This course is designed to introduce participants to the key features of performing in a safe and fun environment. Students will be encouraged to explore material and build creativity along the way. A great course for those studying GCSE, A Level or BTEC drama/acting as well as those with a more general interest in performance.
Classes will start with exercises to develop vocal and physical skills using a range of theatre practitioners. Students will explore a range of text from classical to contemporary. Student will also be provided with a range of stimulus in which to build devised work using a range of current devised theatre practices. Classes will finish with a performance workshop to explore different stimuli, broaden each participant's creative vocabulary and learn various principles to explore creative potential.
No formal qualification is associated with the course.
No formal assessment is provided, however feedback and guidance within taught sessions is given.
No experience of Drama or Acting is needed however students of GCSE, A Level or BTEC/UAL Acting will find the course will enhance their studies.
