Foundation Learning

Foundation Learning is the name given to education at Entry Level and Level 1. It provides opportunities for students with learning difficulties; few or no qualifications and helps learners who may have become disaffected to re-engage with education to gain valuable skills that are the foundation of a successful future.

All of our Entry and Level 1 programmes include:

  • Practical hands on vocational study, developing knowledge, skills and understanding.
  • Functional Skills English and Maths.
  • The development of personal and social learning skills.
  • Work related activities and opportunities.

To enhance learner engagement, achievement and progression, the learning programmes include a wrap around of:

  • Ongoing individualised support.
  • Advice and guidance on progression opportunities.
  • Ongoing assessment with regular views.
