Where will this course lead?

Increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people's mental health.

By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge of:

  • children and young people's mental health in context;
  • mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people;
  • the impact of mental ill-health on children and young people;
  • support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people.

What will I study?

Learners must achieve all of the following mandatory units:

  • Unit 01 Understand children and young people's mental health in context
  • Unit 02 Understand factors which may affect children and young people's mental health
  • Unit 03 Understand children and young people's mental health concerns
  • Unit 04 Understand the impact of children and young people's mental health concerns
  • Unit 05 Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

How will this course be delivered?

This course is delivered via the method 'distance learning' which means you can choose when and where you study. 

What qualifications will I get?

Upon completion of these units, you will be awarded with a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete a paper based workbook, which you will then post or email to the College for marking. Feedback will then be provided to you and you will be informed if you have passed or required to re-submit work.

What are the entry requirements?

Due to funding eligibility, all candidates must be a minimum of 19 years old and have lived in the UK for 3+ years.

What else do I need to know?

This course is currently free to all learners. However, non-completers may be charged a fee of £100.
