Where will this course lead?

Infection prevention and control can play a crucial part in a service user's overall care, so this course is seen as a must for any existing or new healthcare employees. What will I study?

This course is split into manageable sections. These are:
• Principles of the causes and spread of infection in health care settings
• Principles of the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and
control of infection in health care settings
• Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management in health care
• Principles of infection prevention and control in a health care setting

Assessments will be marked by an allocated tutor who will provide you with detailed feedback. You will be assessed against criteria where all learning outcomes of the course have to be covered; your tutor will give you guidance for this.
