A former Business student from Stratford-upon-Avon College is working towards completing his accounting certification whilst working as an Audit Associate at business consultancy Deloitte.
Will Wren joined the College in 2018 after receiving underwhelming GCSE results. He comments: “My plan was to continue at my secondary school but that didn’t work out. I liked that Stratford assessed you with assignments rather than just exams, it meant all my hard work didn’t boil down to just one day.”

During the second year of his Level 3 Business Extended Diploma, Will started a placement at the Crowne Plaza in their accounts department. This placement inspired him to study Accounting and Finance at Aston University.
During his time at university, Will completed a placement year at Deloitte where he gained lots of industry experience. He was then offered a graduate job which he began last September down in London.
Will commented: “It’s long hours and its really busy job but I really enjoy it! I’m currently studying to become an accountant. The company are really supportive!”
Will has some advice for students completing their GCSEs this year: “Keep as many doors open as you can. Study something that gives you options career wise. Stratford didn’t push me down one route, so I was able to choose my own next steps. You’ll figure out what you like.”
