Stratford-upon-Avon College is set to open an Electric Vehicle Training Academy at its newly redeveloped campus.

The College was awarded £625,000 in 2024 from the Stratford-upon-Avon District Council as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the project is now complete.

With growing demand for electric vehicles and their associated maintenance, the training centre will upskill students to ensure they will be well-prepared for contemporary job roles in the industry on completion of their course.

There are also plans to host workshops for local businesses and members of the public to educate and train in sustainable practices.

One of the College’s top priorities is to add green and sustainable skills into the curriculum and the project is a key step in achieving this.

Head of Motor Vehicle at Stratford-upon-Avon College, Lee Kirk, commented: “The specialised workshop prepares students for advancements in automotive technology. They will learn about environmental challenges their industry face and become more attractive to employers.”
