Throughout the academic year, students have explored environmental issues and the impact of global warming. The exhibition showcased a range of displays and student-created pieces designed to inform and inspire visitors.

Students created artwork, science experiments and baked arctic inspired snacks to create an incredibly cool experience.

Foundation Learning Lecturer, Jo Walker, praised the students’ achievements: “Throughout the year, they have explored the Arctic, including its people, wildlife and the impact of global warming – and how this affects us all. To minimise the environmental impact of this project, we have tried to be as sustainably as possible, using old materials and limiting waste.”

Students were supported in the running of this project by Health & Social Care student, Tee Waqanisau, who is doing work experience with the class. She commented: “It’s been great working with everyone and helping with the project!”

Foundation Learning student, Katy Swallow, really enjoyed being creative for the event. She added: “I really enjoyed making the polar bear!”

The whole group did an excellent job!

Students on the course benefit from taking part in a range of practical projects throughout the year which develop a variety of skills including IT, cooking, business and employability. We can’t wait to see what events they bring us next!
