Make Up students celebrate university offer

19th May 2026

Two Make Up for Stage & Screen students from Stratford-upon-Avon College are celebrating receiving offers from a top university as they continue training towards their dream careers.

Lilly Attwood and Faith Langston, both 18 and from Evesham, have received offers from Arts University Bournemouth to study a BA (Hons) in Makeup, Hair and Prosthetics.

Both students have shown a love and passion for make up from a young age. Faith realised her passion at age 12 when she watched The Walking Dead. She started practising creating bruises using a colour pallet at home and never looked back.

Lilly first became interested in a career in make-up while at secondary school. As she approached the end of Year 11 and began considering her options, she reflected on what she enjoyed most and recognised that her talent and passion for make-up could lead to a rewarding career path.

Both students have thoroughly enjoyed their time at college. Lilly enjoyed working with other students the most: “I had a lot of friends in other creative courses, so we were able to share skills and cross over for a lot of projects. Recently I did make up for another student’s photoshoot, and they modelled for me for another project – it has been great to collaborate!”

Faith agreed: “The collaborative nature has been a highlight for me too. I’d also say I have loved how creative you get to be. There is so much that is hands on and practical which has been incredible.”

They are thrilled to be studying at Arts University Bournemouth, particularly for opportunities such as working on real film projects and collaborating with students at Bournemouth Film School. Alongside this, they are also excited for the wider university experience, including Freshers’ events and the chance to live by the coast.

Lecturer, Charlotte Gallichan, is extremely proud of their achievements: “As a tutor to Lilly and Faith this year it has been rewarding to see them grow and develop in confidence and experience, through them experimenting with high fashion make-up, special effects and media make-up, wig styling, right through to prosthetics, with their ambitious creations. I am very proud of them achieving their goals, by receiving their offers at their chosen university, as they will be onto the next stage of their pathway onto being advanced professional hair and media make-up artists, to gain more experiences and learning to hopefully achieve their dreams of being make-up artists within TV and Film.

This course develops students to progress in many different areas so that students can find their specialism, express their own creativity or become fully qualified in these different areas, such as high fashion catwalk make-up, airbrushing, camouflage make-up, wig styling and postiche and prosthetics: including making your own prosthetics through sculpting, moulding and casting. This gives students many pathways that they can take including self-employment in different parts of the industry, product specialist roles, hair apprenticeships and working in salon or barber shops.”
