A Photography student from Stratford-upon-Avon College has had his work on display at a public exhibition after achieving top marks in his first year.
Logan Larkin-Wong, 17 from Leamington Spa, has shown incredible talent and dedication to his craft. That dedication was rewarded with a Distinction on the first year of his course. His work has also recently been displayed in The Art Room, an art gallery in the heart of Leamington.

Logan’s passion for photography came from a young age; inspired by his mother’s interest in the medium, he saved his pocket money and bought his own camera aged 11. After pursuing Photography at GCSE level, he knew he wanted to take it further.
Stratford-Upon-Avon College was the perfect choice for him: “The facilities here were great, plus I was able to focus just on Photography without having to take any other subjects alongside.”
During his first year at college, Logan signed up as a member at The Art Room which allowed him to put his work forward each month to be selected to be shown. Not only is Logan’s work selected regularly, he also entered a bursary competition last year and was one of three winners, which allowed him to pay for further training to develop his work: “The bursary has definitely allowed me to grow and my work to develop.”
Logan found his college course complimented his extra-curricular activities: “I was able to use projects I created at college to submit for exhibition.”
His recent work to be featured in the exhibition focuses on Black and White hands-free images and landscapes.
He has had many pieces of his work bought from the exhibition, plus at the Art in the Park Festival; a curated arts festival, showcasing, selling and providing live demonstrations from artists and craftspeople in Warwickshire and the Midlands.
Moving forward, Logan is continuing to develop his craft and get his name out there, volunteering his Photography services at events such as Proms and Literary Festivals and securing a place on the college’s Level 4 Art & Design course.
Photography lecturer, Kimberly Malins, is extremely proud. She comments: “Logan’s work is really beginning to evolve as the years are progressing, achieving a Distinction for his Final Major Project in Year One. Logan is making connections with professionals in the photographic industry, understanding how to work as a professional photographer, selling his work in a major town. I am very proud of Logans accomplishments, he is a very independent student who will strive to do his best. I know he will go far as a talented photographer.”
