Electrical Installation students from Stratford-upon-Avon College recently received a talk and presentation from a top circuit protection brand and had the chance to win a lifesaving piece of kit.
Students on the Level 1, 2 and 3 Electrical Installation courses welcomed representatives from circuit protection brand Fusebox. Senior Production Manager Paul Appleby and Area Sales Manager Tracey Hazlewood spoke to the students about their products, how they work and how getting to know brands will be beneficial in their future careers.
As well as getting a presentation on how the equipment is used in industry and the chance to get hands-on with some of their products, students also had the chance to take part in a quiz. The prize was a lock off kit – a specialized safety set used by electricians to physically prevent electrical circuits or machinery from being turned on while work is in progress.
Tracey commented: “We were excited to show the students our extensive range and give the students a chance to get hands on with the products.” Paul added: “Everything we showed them will be things they will see as they work in this profession. We also went into where certain products are needed and used and also a look at language and terminology used in industry, so they will be better prepared when buying kit from wholesalers.”
Students got an up close look at the equipment plus had the chance to win some amazing kit!
Electrical Installation Lecturer, Bradley Atchinson-Jones, was thrilled to welcome the team to the College: “I was keen to help the students develop contacts and relationships within the industry supply chain and also build brand awareness. This visit from Fusebox has provided our students with a technical view of the latest equipment on the market.”
